01.26.2020 11:31:00 am
During the stay at the port the ship will replenish fuel and food supplies, and the crew members and cadets will rest from a long passage, walk around the city and get acquainted with its must-visit places.

The Kruzenshtern arrived in the Brazilian port of Rio de Janeiro on January 22 and will remain there until January 25. During the stay at the port the ship will replenish fuel and food supplies, and the crew members and cadets will rest from a long passage, walk around the city and get acquainted with its must-visit places.

On her first day at the port the vessel was visited by the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Rio de Janeiro and the Consulate staff.

On January 23, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at the National memorial to the Victims of World War II to commemorate Brazilian soldiers who sacrificed their lives to defeat Nazism. The ceremony was attended by the Consul General in Rio de Janeiro, top officers of the Kruzenshtern and some cadets. The memorial consists of a Museum and several separate monuments. The main part of the composition is a huge 30-meter high concrete arch and an eternal flame at its foot.

On January 23 and 24, the ship was traditionally open to visitors. On the first day, she was visited by almost fifteen hundred people, despite the rain and cloudy weather.
