Next Stop: Tall Ship Races 2017

This summer voyage is filled with the colorful events at Baltic Sea. Karuzenshtern is participating in an international Tall Ship Races 2017 and marine festival Hanse Sail in Rostock.
Kruzenshtern is a frequent participator of the races held by Sail Training International. STI is an international sail training organization, with members in 29 countries. Its main aim is to train sailing skills to young people. This year’s races start in Halmstad, Sweden and then moves on to Kotka, Finland. The participating vessels then move to Turku (Finland), Klaipeda (Lithuania) and Szczecin (Poland). Over 120 vessels of different classes are projected to participate, with a total number of 3000 crew members.
The cadets of Kruzenshtern are going to take part in a regatta only one week after the voyage starts. Youngsters of the four-mast barque are going to study sailing not only on practice but in a race.
Hanse Sail is being held in Rostock, Germany from the 10th to 13th of August. This relatively new event is assisting in mutual understanding between the countries of the Baltic Region. The voyage № 2/123 finishes on the 18th of August in Kaliningrad.
Sail training ship Kruzenshtern leaves Kaliningrad for the summer sailing on the 14th of June at 8 p.m. Relatives and friends of the cadets and crew are allowed on board from 12 a.m. to 2 p.m. To enter the port one must show a document that confirms identity. The official formation starts on board Kruzenshtern at 1 p.m.
